FIYOTEK VS WOOD
Fiyotek against wood, MDF and plywood
| Item | Wood / MDF / plywood | Fiyotek by New Line |
|---|---|---|
| Process | Pressed timber, CNC, then filler, sanding and paint | A formed panel, silicone to the wall, paint |
| Time | About a week to 10 days per shape | A shape in 15–30 minutes; fitted and painted within 24 hours |
| Joints | In plywood, joints and cracks show a week or two after painting | No welds, no filler: 45° bevelled mitre joints |
| Columns | Solid timber takes long and never finishes perfectly; or a plywood box | A column on 3 or 4 faces, with no joints |
| Depth and back | Less depth; the back does not follow the shape | Up to 7 cm; the back follows the face |
| Veneers and looks | Walnut or natural veneer on a relief shape: very hard and costly | Walnut veneer, marble, travertine, concrete in print, or any colour |
| Final finish | Filled, sanded MDF that never quite looks the same | The same finish as wood, or better |
Based on the New Line workshop’s experience with wood, MDF and plywood.
